Health And Safety At Aldermaston
EDM number 1331 in 1992-93, proposed by Llew Smith on 04/02/1993.
That this House welcomes the publication by Greenpeace of the Report Aldermaston; Inside the Citadel; is concerned over the revelations in the report that over 100 atomic weapons establishment workers have been injured or killed at Aldermaston since 1951, that over 250 fires have taken place at the plant since 1970 and that significant quantities of radioactive wastes have leaked from the nuclear warhead design and production facility; declares that all nuclear warhead manufacture is dangerous, expensive and unnecessary and should be stopped; and supports the recommendation by Greenpeace that an immediate investigation into health and safety at Aldermaston be established by Her Majesty's Government.
