Lancashire And The Council Tax
EDM number 1287 in 1992-93, proposed by Peter L Pike on 29/01/1993.
That this House recognises that, whilst the increase in the notional amount that Lancashire County Council can spend in 1993-94 from ú882,385,000 to ú888,846.000 allows that county council to spend more on essential services, the poor and deprived will be most hit by the ú60 million the county council are still having to consider as cuts to keep within the capping limit; and further recognises as the Standard Spending Assessment for Lancashire has been reduced from ú866, 477,000 to ú865,629,000 the average 'E' band council tax will rise by an additional figure of about ú17, meaning once again people of Lancashire will lose out on service and pay a higher price due to Government policies.
