Discounting War Pensions

EDM number 128 in 1992-93, proposed by Mike Hall on 21/05/1992.

That this House recognises that currently it is up to the discretion of individual local authorities to discount war pensions in the calculation of housing benefit entitlement, the cost of which falls entirely upon poll tax payers; and therefore calls upon the Government to end this anomalous situation by introducing a national funded scheme for discounting war pensions in the calculation of housing benefit.
