That this House calls for an urgent inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the resignation of the Conservative leader of Hinckley District Council following a district auditor's investigation into the use of council funds to employ private detectives to spy on opposition councillors and the refusal to supply copies of leisure services contracts to councillors which has resulted in both the Conservative council leader and the most senior officer of the council resigning and the consideration whether to call in the Fraud Squad to investigate.
This motion has been signed by a total of 39 MPs.
