Oil Job Relocation To Scotland

EDM number 1273 in 1992-93, proposed by Alex Salmond on 28/01/1993.

That this House notes that it is now more than 18 months since the Select Committee on Energy endorsed the arguments on the substantial economic benefits which would arise from the relocation of the Petroleum Engineering Directorate from London to Scotland; further notes that the Department of Trade and Industry received a consultant's report on the issue last Autumn; reminds Ministers that these matters have been under discussion for many years; and calls for an early positive announcement of the transfer of these key civil service posts to the centre of the oil industry in the North East of Scotland.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
