That this House recognises the importance of the Radio 4 service to people in neighbouring countries, as well as within the United Kingdom; notes the widespread campaign in Dublin and the Republic of Ireland to save Radio 4 Long Wave; and calls upon the BBC to reconsider their proposal to replace Radio 4 Long Wave with a 24 hour rolling news service which would result in half a million Radio 4 listeners in the Republic of Ireland losing access to the service which they have enjoyed for a number of years.
