Threat To Wensleydale Cheese
EDM number 122 in 1992-93, proposed by Derek Enright on 20/05/1992.
That this House notes with alarm the planned closure of the Wensleydale Creamery at Hawes, posing a threat to British cheese more potent than anything emanating from Brussels; and calls upon Dairy Crest, even though they are based in the foreign hinterland of Surrey, to deny the base rumours and publicly proclaim their determination to leave the pride of British cheeses to flourish.
This motion has been signed by a total of 54 MPs.
