Women Against Pit Closures

EDM number 1181 in 1992-93, proposed by Kevin Hughes on 18/01/1993.

That this House congratulates the women against pit closures in setting up pit camps as part of their continuing campaign to save the 31 pits under threat of closure by British Coal and the Government; and urges honourable Members to express their support for the women in their campaign to save thousands of jobs in mining and other industries by visiting and writing to the women at their pit camps.

This motion has been signed by a total of 87 MPs.
