Change Of Law Relating To Bail
EDM number 1134 in 1992-93, proposed by Michael Stephen on 12/01/1993.
That this House considers that the prosecution should have a right of appeal where bail is granted by magistrates just as the arrested person has if bail is refused; and further considers that if a person had, during the past ten years, committed an offence whilst on bail, is should be for him to prove in any future proceedings that bail should be granted, and not for the prosecution to prove that it should not be granted.
