Greyhound Racing And Betting Hours
EDM number 1098 in 1992-93, proposed by William McKelvey on 16/12/1992.
That this House urges the Home Office to take into account the views of the majority of betting shop staff on the extension of licensing hours of betting shops and the contracts that are being issued to cashiers and managers for working unsocial hours; points out the devastating effect the evening opening of betting shops would have on evening greyhound racing with no off-course betting levy; and urges Her Majesty's Government to make no further decisions on this issue until such time as the majority of the recommendations of the Sixth Report of the Home Affairs Select Committee of session 1990-91 on the Financing of Greyhound Racing have been brought into effect.
This motion has been signed by a total of 53 MPs.
