Chancellor Of The Duchy Of Lancaster & The Plight Of Disadvantaged Groups
EDM number 1095 in 1992-93, proposed by Terry Lewis on 15/12/1992.
That this House is appalled that the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster apparently believes the condition of the homeless, the unemployed and pensioners, is a 'lost cause'; is scandalized by the tone and content of his reply to the honourable Member for Bolsover on 14th December, Official Report, column 18; believes his answer gives the clearest indication yet of Government indifference to the plight of the victims of its failed economic policies; further believes that the Citizen's Charter is a cynical exercise designed to obfuscate the problems these groups endure; and calls upon the Prime Minister to repudiate the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster's remarks forthwith.
This motion has been signed by a total of 52 MPs.
