Hearing Loss And War Pension Rules
EDM number 1051 in 1992-93, proposed by Bill Michie on 10/12/1992.
That this House, in view of the Secretary of State's announced proposals to introduce from 7th January 1993 a threshold for war pension claims for noise-induced hearing loss which means that those with less than 20 per cent. disability will receive no award, affecting an estimated 10,000 new claimants in 1993-94, and, in view of the apparent lack of publicity to this effect, calls on the Government to delay such proposals in order to initiate further discussions with those who have a legitimate claim.
This motion has been signed by a total of 71 MPs.
