Election In Zambia

EDM number 88 in 1991-92, proposed by David Steel on 06/11/1991.

That this House welcomes the recent election in Zambia, recognising the transition to multi-party democracy; offers congratulations to Frederick Chiluba on his election to presidential office, and to Kenneth Kaunda, Father of the Nation, on his graceful acceptance of defeat; and encourages all the people of Africa further to pursue the processes of democracy.
