Harrogate Health Authority & The Sponsorship Of Hospital Beds
EDM number 82 in 1991-92, proposed by David Hinchliffe on 05/11/1991.
That this House notes with interest the Harrogate Health Authority's introduction of financial sponsorship of individual hospital beds, with name plaques above each bed, providing a timely reminder of the fact that health care used to be dependent upon individual philanthropy, private insurance schemes and the patient's ability to pay; and further notes that the logical outcome of the present Government's health policies will be the break up of the National Health Service and a return to such an inhuman and anachronistic system.
