Rabies Protection In The British Isles
EDM number 806 in 1991-92, proposed by David Shaw on 04/03/1992.
That this House notes the remarkable success of the quarantine laws in keeping rabies out of Britain; expresses its grave concern over suggestions that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, under pressure from the European Commission, may be required to relax the regulations; and trusts that the Ministry will take a robust stance in defending the British Isles from rabies, which is still prevalent on the mainland of Europe.
