Football In Wales
EDM number 782 in 1991-92, proposed by John P Smith on 03/03/1992.
That this House deplores the high handed arrogance of the Football Association of Wales for compelling semi-professional Welsh clubs to play in the new Football League of Wales against their will, thus frustrating their legitimate ambitions and resulting in at least two of them, Barry Town and Newport county, moving to Worcester and Gloucester next season; is shocked and saddened by this outcome; and calls upon the Minister of Sport to intervene to stop this bureaucratic madness in the interest of the game in Wales.
This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
