Severn Bridge Toll Increase
EDM number 770 in 1991-92, proposed by Roy Hughes on 27/02/1992.
That this House is appalled by the decision to increase tolls on the Severn Bridge from 26th April to ú2.80 for a motor car, ú5.60 for a minibus and ú8.40 for a lorry, with collection for westward bound traffic only; is mindful of the damage this decision will have on employment and investment prospects and on the Welsh tourist trade; and realises these increases are a direct consequence of the Government's decision to hand over this vital crossing to a French-backed consortium.
This motion has been signed by a total of 45 MPs.
