Planning Appeal, Mexborough

EDM number 738 in 1991-92, proposed by Martin Redmond on 24/02/1992.

That this House condemns the decision reached by the Planning Inspectorate on planning appeal reference T/APP/F4410/A/91/1858/04/P5; further states that the Inspectorate did not place sufficient weight and importance on aspects including the fact that there is some evidence of this site being of archaeological interest, that it is in a green belt area, that there is an asbestos site nearby, that there is a sewage works nuisance, that the land will require constant monitoring for landfill gas, that insufficient consideration was given to residents' objections, that there is sufficient ex-British Coal land to accommodate any future housing needs in the Dearne area, that the land is not therefore required for any future housing needs and that the land is blighted; warns all prospective buyers not to invest in this area; and therefore calls upon the Secretary of State to take all necessary steps to veto this appeal.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
