Sacked Miners And Economic League Blacklist

EDM number 733 in 1991-92, proposed by Dennis Skinner on 20/02/1992.

That this House condemns the pernicious and undemocratic Economic League for victimising former miners for their political beliefs by circulating their names to potential employers in a vicious attempt to discredit them; and blames this evil organisation for the death of a former miner whose name was on the Economic League's list and who committed suicide because he could not find a job.
