Search And Rescue At Raf Leuchars

EDM number 714 in 1991-92, proposed by Menzies Campbell on 19/02/1992.

That this House welcomes the statement by the Minister of State for Defence Procurement, the Right honourable Member for Plymouth, Sutton in the House on 19th February, that it was no longer the intention of Her Majesty's Government to contractorise military search and rescue, but regrets that he was unable to end speculation over the future of search and rescue operations from RAF Leuchars by announcing that two of the Sea Kings to be ordered would be deployed there; and calls upon the Government to end the uncertainty surrounding search operations at RAF Leuchars by recognising the important contribution they make to military and civilian safety and confirming that such operations will continue.

This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
