Job Losses At Manchester Nhs Trust
EDM number 707 in 1991-92, proposed by Robert Litherland on 19/02/1992.
That this House is appalled to learn that the Manchester Central Hospital and Community Care National Health Service Trust, the flagship of the Government's opt-out policy in the North West, has admitted that there will be enforced job losses as part of a three million pound cuts package to balance the books; notes that cuts of this magnitude are a recipe for disaster and the ultimate decline in patient care; deplores the attitude of the Secretary of State in refusing to accept Members' questions on the subject; and now calls upon him to take action to retrieve the crisis situation at Manchester Central Trust and recognise the scheme is doomed to failure.
