Future Of Merseyside Museum Of Labour History
EDM number 65 in 1991-92, proposed by Robert N Wareing on 04/11/1991.
That this House commends the role played by the Merseyside Museum of Labour History in highlighting the contribution of working people to the history and development of Liverpool and Merseyside; deprecates the proposal to move the museum to the Albert Dock complex and to sink its distinctive identity within a more bland cultural history exhibition; further deplores the proposal to introduce an entrance fee which can only have the consequence of excluding working class people from their own history and heritage; and calls for a rethink on the part of the National Museums on Merseyside.
This motion has been signed by a total of 38 MPs.
