Macedonian Claims For Independence

EDM number 545 in 1991-92, proposed by Max Madden on 22/01/1992.

That this House, recalling with gratitude and pride the close and supportive relationship which has always existed between Greece and Britain both in war and in peace, is opposed to recognition of the independence of the Republic of Macedonia, presently part of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, unless and until it gives a commitment in its constitution to take no unilateral action to annex territories which are presently within the borders of Greece.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
