Gloucestershire Standard Spending Assessment
EDM number 522 in 1991-92, proposed by Dawn Primarolo on 21/01/1992.
That this House is concerned that Gloucestershire County Council's standard spending assessment for 1992-93 is forcing the county to cut ú14 million from its education budget; notes that Gloucestershire is already one of the lowest spending local education authorities and that these reductions will result in savage cuts in an already meagre education budget, leading to redundancies for teaching staff, very large class sizes and insecurity for the school meals service; and therefore calls on the Government to reconsider urgently Gloucestershire's standard spending assessment and take immediate steps to allocate funds to protect education.
