Economic Situation In The UK

EDM number 470 in 1991-92, proposed by Jimmy Wray on 14/01/1992.

That this House is greatly concerned at the lack of interest by the Government in the economic disaster that faces the country and in the hardship, poverty and hopelessness it has created for millions of people in the United Kingdom; calls on the Government to admit its economic failure through lack of investment; and further calls for a major injection of finance into the sadly neglected manufacturing trade, in to a new housing building programme in order to re-house the homeless and for more money to be spent on public safety owing to the escalation of murder by firearms.
