Rights Of Shop Workers
EDM number 440 in 1991-92, proposed by Bob Cryer on 18/12/1991.
That this House calls upon all those retail trading companies such as B & Q, W. H. Smith, Asda and William Morrison's and similar law-breaking organisations who are opening their shops on Sunday to make a clear declaration that no express or implied threat to jobs or job prospects or any other type of intimidation will be used to coerce those employees who do not wish to work on Sundays because they wish to keep Sunday special and have every right to do so.
This motion has been signed by a total of 49 MPs.
