London Weekend Television 1991 London Lecture

That this House believes the choice of the Secretary of State for the Environment to deliver this year's LWT London Lectures to have been an act of political partiality which debases the value of the lecture; notes that the Secretary of State offered nothing more than a miserable apologia for 12 years of Thatcherite policies which have created so much distress, inefficiency and squalor amongst London's services and citizens; notes the overwhelming case for restoring strategic city-wide local government in London as demanded by all independent and authoritative experts; and calls upon LWT to stage a second 1991 London Lecture to restore political balance before returning to a non-partisan format in future years.
