"play It Safe" Child Safety Campaign

That this House notes with alarm that the most common cause of death among children aged between one and 14 years is accidents; that every year in the United Kingdom about 10,000 children are permanently disabled through accidents that in an average day three children will die, 400 will stay overnight in hospital and over 7,000 will receive medical treatment; accordingly welcomes the Play It Safe - Action for Child Safety campaign which is being launched in January; and calls on the Government to give it maximum support.
This motion has been signed by a total of 40 MPs.
