House Of Commons Refreshment Department
EDM number 400 in 1991-92, proposed by Dennis Skinner on 13/12/1991.
That this House condemns the Scrooge-like attitude of the House of Commons authorities for deducting money from low-paid catering workers' pre-Christmas pay packets in respect of clocking-on procedures; and demands that the sums of money, up to ú29 in one case, be returned to the employees concerned and that the clocking-on machine, which does not work properly, be no longer used and that workers be taken on trust like the so-called professional people that attend the House of Commons.
This motion has been signed by a total of 52 MPs.
