Karamjit Singh Chahal
EDM number 359 in 1991-92, proposed by Max Madden on 09/12/1991.
That this House calls upon the Home Secretary to release immediately from Bedford Prison, Mr Karamjit Singh Chahal so that he may re-join his wife and two British-born children; believes the deportation notice, issued against Mr Chahal, should be withdrawn immediately; and suggests the Home Secretary obtains current information about gross human rights violations happening in the Punjab so that he has a better understanding of the well founded fear of persecution held by people like Mr Chahal of being required to return to India.
This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
