Action On Unemployment
EDM number 347 in 1991-92, proposed by Eddie Loyden on 05/12/1991.
That this House rejects the notion implicit in the so-called special employment measures such as Restart and Employment Action, that unemployment is somehow caused by the shortcomings of the unemployed; supports the initiative taken by the North West unemployed centres in organising the unemployment action campaign calling for a political commitment to full employment, investment in quality training and an end to discrimination in the field of employment; and pledges support for the demonstration planned in Liverpool, Manchester and Skelmersdale.
This motion has been signed by a total of 35 MPs.
