Proposed Opting-Out Of Good Hope Hospital
EDM number 33 in 1991-92, proposed by Robin Corbett on 31/10/1991.
That this House notes with disgust that 1,164 incontinence patients in North Birmingham are being forced to help meet the costs of the proposed opting-out of Good Hope Hospital in 1993 through an arbitrary halving of the number of incontinence pads now being suppled; calls upon all of these patients to have freely supplied the pads they need for their condition; and invites the Secretary of State for Health to ensure that neither the North Birmingham Health Authority, nor any other, shall be permitted to reduce these essential medical supplies below individually assessed medical need.
