Scottish Television St Andrews Day Programmes

That this House congratulates Scottish Television and the production team responsible for Loosing the Heid shown as part of the series of St. Andrew's Day Programmes; notes the powerful case made in the programme to reverse the trend of company head office moves from Scotland and the debilitating effect on the economy of external control; calls on Scottish Television to rebroadcast the similar programme from last year, Scotching the Myth, which destroyed the argument that Scotland is a subsidised country and detailed the extraordinary raft of hidden subsidies which flow into the South of England economy; and calls on Scottish Ministers and English Tory backbenchers to educate them in the realities of public finance in the United Kingdom.
