Conduct Of The Leader Of The Conservative Group On Angus District Council

That this House condemns statements made by the Conservative Party leader on Angus District Council describing the historic Arbroath Abbey pageant as being similar to a Nazi Nuremburg rally; notes both the blind bigotry and racism of such statements, which are totally unjustified and an insult to Scots, the Scottish churches and the institution of the monarchy; deplores how anti-Scottish and out of touch the Conservative Party in Scotland has become; and calls upon the Conservative Party to repudiate this outburst from one of its leading councillors and to join in supporting the continuation of this historic re-enactment of the signing of the 14th Century Declaration of Arbroath.
