Sunday Trading (No.3)
EDM number 292 in 1991-92, proposed by Roger Gale on 28/11/1991.
That this House condemns the decision, taken by certain chainstores, to flout existing United Kingdom law and to open stores in England on Sundays between now and Christmas; trusts that the English public will demonstrate their disdain for the manner in which these companies intend to abuse their power by taking their custom elsewhere; and deeply regrets that this aspect of wholly domestic policy may prove to be one of many that will be determined not by the Parliament of the United Kingdom but by European authorities.
This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
