G.p. Fundholding

That this House welcomes the decision of the British Medical Association to hold a conference of general practitioner fundholders; notes the ever increasing support for the general practitioner fundholding scheme amongst general practitioners, patients and health service commentators as the improved services for patients which result from the scheme become more and more apparent; and congratulates the Government on introducing such an imaginative and creative scheme which contrasts so happily with the unrelieved barrenness of the Opposition's attempt at formulating a health care policy.
