Mr Sean Connery And Scottish Patriotism
EDM number 27 in 1991-92, proposed by Norman Hogg on 31/10/1991.
That this House views with astonishment the decision of Mr Sean Connery, actor and supporter of the Scottish National Party, to promote Suntory whisky, a Japanese company operating in direct competition with the Scottish whisky industry which employs 15,500 Scots and contributes ú1.5 billion to British exports; and calls upon the leadership of the SNP to affirm its support for the Scottish whisky industry and to dissociate itself from the hypocritical actions of Mr Connery.
This motion has been signed by a total of 49 MPs.
