Scottish Local Government Pensioners

EDM number 26 in 1991-92, proposed by Norman Hogg on 31/10/1991.

That this House notes with concern that most Scottish local government pensioners are underpaid as a result of a miscalculation in the retail price index between February 1986 and October 1987; further notes that they have not received a special compensatory payment similar to that paid to most local government pensioners in England and Wales; and calls upon the Secretary of State for Scotland to correct this anomaly as a matter of urgency.
