That this House congratulates the United Nations Security Council on their choice of Dr Boutros Ghali as the next Secretary General of the United Nations; believes that his credentials for this top job are impeccable; recognises that his statesmanship, wide knowledge of world affairs and tireless efforts to bring about peace in the Middle East will stand him in the highest stead to achieve this crucially important role; and pledges continuing support for the work of the United Nations and its agencies.
