That this House notes Mirror Group Newspapers have commenced proceedings in the High Court against an honourable Member of this House because he called for an investigation into specific allegations of arms dealing and illicit intelligence activity; expresses concern that despite the purported enthusiasm to bring this matter before a court, as claimed by Daily Mirror leader writers, solicitors acting for Mirror Group applied in vain to a judge in chambers to delay the litigation; urges Mirror Group newspapers to make public the conclusions of the internal inquiry which recommended the dismissal of Mr Nicholas Davies, formerly Foreign Editor of the Daily Mirror; and calls for a full police investigation of all aspects of Mirrorgate.
