Royal Naval Workshop, Almondbank, Perthshire
EDM number 127 in 1991-92, proposed by Bill Walker on 12/11/1991.
That this House notes that the Royal Naval Workshop at Almondbank in Perthshire has a reputation within the Royal Navy for excellence in the field of helicopter maintenance; further notes that the strategic decision to locate the workshop in a rural area far from other high risk naval and military essential maintenance facilities is as relevant today as it was at the time of the German air offensive in the 1940s; and calls upon the Government to retain this low cost and efficient workshop facilitity in Perthshire, Scotland.
