Nuclear Fusion At Culham

EDM number 118 in 1991-92, proposed by David Shaw on 11/11/1991.

That this House congratulates the team of scientists at the Joint European Torus Project, on their world first achievement, the successful creation of nuclear fusion in the experimental reactor at Culham; acknowledges this breakthrough as an important landmark in the work to prove the feasibility of producing abundant clean safe energy; and hopes the research will continue to progress towards an ultimate solution to the threat of greenhouse gas emissions to the global environment.
