Submarine Training Exercise In Firth Of Clyde

EDM number 107 in 1991-92, proposed by Ray Michie on 07/11/1991.

That this House deplores the proposed submarine training exercise which is to take place on the Firth of Clyde on 23rd November, being the day after the anniversary of the tragic sinking of the fishing vessel `Antares' with the loss of all four crew; believes the timing is deeply insensitive; and calls on the Government to cancel the exercise forthwith, as a mark of respect for the bereaved families and the communities of Carradale and Campbeltown; and further believes that this can be done without imperilling national security.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
