East Timor

EDM number 100 in 1991-92, proposed by Alice Mahon on 07/11/1991.

That this House calls on Her Majesty's Government to end the sale of arms to Indonesia; condemns the attacks by the Indonesians against the Catholic Church and the people of East Timor; deeply regrets the failure of the international delegation to visit East Timor; calls upon this Government to support the call by the East Timorese for unconditional peace talks; and believes Her Majesty's Government should initiate a debate in the United Nations on the illegal occupation of East Timor.
