Shipley College Visit To Eire
EDM number 988 in 1990-91, proposed by Max Madden on 18/06/1991.
That this House expresses the hope that eight students and two tutors from Shipley College in West Yorkshire have a most enjoyable visit to Eire; expresses regret that visa applications by three students - two Pakistan nationals, another a Bangladeshi national - were refused on the eve of visit by the Irish authorities; and expresses appreciation to the staff of Senator Brendan Ryan of the Dail for prompt intervention resulting in visas being granted, thereby facilitating this much-anticipated visit to Dublin.
This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
