Lloyds Tax Relief

EDM number 983 in 1990-91, proposed by Dennis Skinner on 18/06/1991.

That this House refuses to hand over taxpayers' money to the Lloyd's insurers who have gambled and lost; draws attention to the fact that millions of people gamble on football, horses and dogs and never expect the Government to bail them out when bets are lost; and demands that those who use the posh gambling den at Lloyd's should neither expect nor receive special treatment from other taxpayers.
