Leicestershire County Council And A46-A47 Link Road

That this House deplores the proposals for Leicestershire County Council's Environment Committee unilaterally to change the route of the A46-A47 link road; considers that this disgraceful action, which has been taken without public consultation and in defiance of discussions held over the last few decades, is a clear attempt to exclude local people and their elected representatives from the decision-making process; and calls upon the Council to take no further action with regard to the route of the road until there has been proper consultation with those immediately affected.
