That this House pays tribute to the men of the Middlesex Regiment and their victory at the Battle of Albuera on 16th May 1811 at which they gained the nickname of The Diehards; takes note that the Middlesex flag was flown on 16th May above Middlesex Guildhall, Parliament Square, by permission of the Lord Chancellor; further notes that the Middlesex Cricket Club are the present county champions, that Arsenal are the current Football League Champions and that Tottenham Hotspur won the F. A. Cup Final at Wembley; and concludes that the glorious record of success by the men and women of the ancient geographical county of Middlesex continues unabated.
