London Ambulance Service

EDM number 817 in 1990-91, proposed by DN Campbell-Savours on 09/05/1991.

That this House notes the questionable management style of Mr John Wilby, Chief Executive of the London Ambulance Service; notes that Mr Wilby is taking a heavy toll on morale in the service; calls on Mr Wilby to make an open, clear and unambiguous statement as to how he envisages the future of trade unionism amongst London ambulancemen and women and as to whether it is his intention to secure some form of trust status for the London service; also seeks an assurance that he will not reduce the working conditions of London ambulance personnel in terms of pay and conditions of service; and further seeks clear reassurances that he has never and will never make it his practice to penalise in any way persons involved in the recent industrial action involving London ambulance personnel.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
