Congratulations To Southend United Football Club

EDM number 810 in 1990-91, proposed by Teddy Taylor on 08/05/1991.

That this House offers congratulations to Southend United Football Club, to its manager David Webb and to all its players on its promotion to the Second Division; and considers that the achievements of Club Chairman, Mr Vic Jobson, who took over the control of the club when it was in financial crisis at the lower end of the Fourth Division with a small and declining number of supporters, should be an inspiration to all enterprising persons facing apparently insurmountable problems.
